Using the word " Ameliorate " as the concept, the design is heavily based on floorplans and spatial planning.

After careful consideration of the wind direction, humidity, temperature, sun path, noise, vistas and other existing site condition, the design is set to diminish the negative site impacts, and enhance the existing good factors. 

Project 4 is to design a 2 storey residential unit for local celebrity / environmentalist, Maya Karin

PROJECT 4

The site consist of 2 access, of which we were given the opportunity to determine which is more suitable as a main entrance. Along designing an eco-friendly, 2 storey, family holiday home, we were instructed to focus on privacy for the client as it should be a relaxing stay away from paparazzi's. The surrounding landscape must also be justified in respect to the existing contour with proposed retaining wall. My take is to surround the building with a lengthy lap pool and a landscape pool to make the building looks floaty, complimenting the form of the high projected, overlapping metal deck roofs. 

While the drive area is split into 2 ends that separates welcoming guests area that leads directly to the living room, and a less welcoming drive-way that leads to the kitchen and car wash area for easy access of the occupants. The car wash area will be incorporated with Rain water harvesting tank that is placed next to the pump room for the lap pool, designed for easy maintenance access in the future. Open courtyard is place in the center of the building for natural lighting and wind circulation.
